Savour Kilkenny This October Bank Holiday

Join us in Kilkenny this October Bank Holiday weekend for the 16th annual Savour Kilkenny Food Festival. Featuring a bustling 100 Stall MarketCookery Demos by top chefs; Dining and Drinks events for every taste; interactive Talks and Workshops and entertainment for the whole Family

Dining events begin on October 24th with the Savour Market, Cookery DemosTalks & Family Entertainment taking place on Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th October, while Monday 28th will once again play host to Madra Monday along with a number of new events including Wellness Talks & Demos and a Camphill celebration of inclusion, food and innovation. Also, for the first time, the Savour market will stay open till 9pm on Saturday evening with street entertainment and live music from Abbaesque!

The 2024 line-up includes: Rachel Allen, Derry Clarke, Kevin Dundon, Edward Hayden, James Kavanagh and William Murray, Jeeny Maltese, JP McMahon, Anne Neary, Rory O’Connell, Gary O’Hanlon plus lots more…

Discover the spells cast on society as we delve into the infamous Kilkenny Witch Trials. Learn about the powerful and wealthy Alice Kyteler, accused of witchcraft and heresy by the Bishop of Ossory, Richard Ledrede. Alongside Alice’s story, explore the tragic fate of Petronella de Meath, the first person in Ireland to be executed for witchcraft.

Join us in commemorating the 700th anniversary of these dark events. Through this festival, we will explore the societal fears, power struggles, and personal stories that shaped this notorious trial.
